Advanced treatment facility

An advanced treatment facility is an institution regulated under the Medical Care Law, Article 4-2, dated July 1, 1992.

Advanced treatment facilities refer to institutions which:

  1. Provide advanced medical treatment
  2. Are involved in the development and evaluation of advanced medical treatments
  3. Conduct training in advanced medical treatments

If a facility fulfills these conditions and is approved by the Minister of Health, Labour, and Welfare, it is designated an advanced treatment facility.
Furthermore, at advanced treatment facilities, we should try to treat patients who require advanced medical care and those who are in the acute phase of their illness.
As of July 1st, 1994, our hospital has been designated an advanced treatment facility, one of 83 nationwide (as of July 1st, 2011), as specified by the Medical Care Law, and it has been responsible for providing highly advanced medical care to the community.
