General Internal Medicine
The General Internal Medicine department is dedicated to providing medical service to all patients: regardless of age, whose disease is undiagnosed, or who have multiple diseases and require comprehensive medical care. To provide the best patient-centered medicine, we can work in concert with the other clinical subspecialty departments and the Center for Patients Support in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

In our outpatient clinic, we use the latest CT scan and D-SPECT for diagnosing diseases such as angina and myocardial infarction. We are now able to evaluate coronary arteries of our hospitalized patients more precisely with the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT). For treatment, we conduct in percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), stent placement, directional coronary atherectomy (DCA), and Rotor Brator. We also use even more advanced method such as excimer laser therapy. With emergency situation, intensive care treatment is available in the Coronary Care Unit, 24 hours a day. Severe cases of arrhythmia such as atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia are treated by catheter ablation, while analyzing the condition of electrical conduction in patient's heart with use of the newest 3D diagnostic methods. For patients with serious heart failure, aggressive treatments such as surgical implantation of defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy with implantation of a CRT-P are performed. We also analyze the relationship between genetic factors and background of such diseases as heart failure, cardiomyopathy, arteriosclerosis and hypertension and the patient's disease state in order to help improve our therapy. In our Cardiovascular Medicine department, we strive to provide the best medical treatment possible for our patients.
In our Nephrology unit, we cover all patients in all stages of disease, from those who show asymptomatic mild proteinuria or hematuria, to those with water retention, or with a slight decrease in kidney function to those with late stage kidney failure who may require hemodialysis.
