Medical consultations at our hospital

The clinical departments, medical treatment payment, advanced medicine, second opinions, cancer therapy, outpatient consultation with nursing, clinical trials, and hospital newsletter Kusunoki Dayori, are introduced here.

If this is your initial consultation, you must bring a medical referral letter from other medical institution to our hospital. Otherwise, you have to pay additional ¥10,800 as fee for treatment of patient's choice to see a doctor here.

Advanced Medical Treatment

At our hospital, we are approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to provide various kinds of advanced medical care. If you would like to hear about this in more detail, please ask the clinical department where the advanced treatment is being offered.

Outpatients Seeking Second Opinions

Kobe University Hospital conducts its medical treatment in accordance with our hospital principles. As part of this philosophy, we also offer second opinions (by appointment only).Second opinions are for when the patient wishes to choose the best possible means of treatment, and wants to hear an opinion from a second doctor besides his attending physician (home doctor).

Cancer (Tumor) Treatment

Cancer treatment at our hospital consists of internal medicine approaches at the Medical Oncology and Hematology department, chemotherapy with antineoplastic agents, radiotherapy and surgery depending on the individual patients' symptoms. Our goal is for patients to receive the most effective and safest treatment possible. We can also provide opportunities to use the newest drugs as part of clinical trials, to provide relief from psychological and physical distress through palliative care, in addition to conventional treatment modalities.

International Patients (requiring language assistance)

The International Patient Center was established in October 1st, 2001 so that foreign nationals living in Japan could receive the top level of medical care that Japan can provide. At the International Patient Center, with help from our staff and foreign physicians currently studying in Japan, we provide assistance in all aspects of hospital use from arranging for your next appointment, help in receiving treatment or being admitted, and interpreter services. We can currently provide language assistance in the following languages: English, Chinese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Nepali.

Outpatient Nursing Consultation Services

Outpatient nursing consultation service

At our hospital, in order for our patients to feel confident about their lives once they leave the hospital, we provide a special consultation nursing service for patients coming to the hospital on an outpatient status. A nurse will provide you with advice on nursing the patient to full health after leaving the hospital. If you would like to use the outpatient nursing consultation service please feel free to ask your nurse any questions you may have. We would like to wholeheartedly support you in any way we can. We look forward to having you come in for a consultation.

Clinical Trials

At the Center for Clinical Research, we conduct clinical trials (Studies to investigate the efficacy and safety of new drugs being developed to receive approval from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare). We are always looking for people who may be interested in participating in a clinical trial. If you can visit the hospital regularly and are interested in possibly participating in a clinical trial, please feel free to contact us for details.

Kusunoki Dayori (KUH’s bimonthly newsletter)

Kusunoki Dayori is our hospital newsletter. It is issued every other month to report our latest news, and provide patients and their families with descriptions of our medical care and other useful information.

You can find them at the central entrance, at the counters of each clinical department and at most of the main facilities of the hospital. Please take a copy and glance through it.
