With technological innovations such as IoT, AI, and big data dramatically transforming the structure of society and the economy, the Japanese government’s social initiative Society 5.0 aims to solve various social issues through innovation. Furthermore, in the medical field as well, diversification, individualization, and patient-centered care are expected to advance, leading to significant changes in the healthcare environment surrounding each individual. At this year’s symposium, three speakers from medical AI-related companies and academia based in Kobe will give lectures on research and development strategies and platform building initiatives aimed at shaping the future.

Kobe University Hospital will exhibit at the 20th Medical Device Design and Manufacturing Exhibition — Medical Creation Fukushima 2024 as a participating institution of the Medical Device Development Collaboration Network “Yawaragi.” During the exhibition, technologies from manufacturing companies and the latest medical devices from medical device manufacturers will be showcased together. The event aims to promote collaboration between industry technologies and the needs of clinical practice, while also featuring seminars on the latest trends in the medical device industry and human resource development. At the Kobe University Hospital booth, we will present our initiatives in human resource development and industry–academia collaboration carried out mainly through the University Hospital and the Graduate School of Medicine.
